✅ What to Do

[M]Say "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un" at any calamity. (Qur'an 2:156)
[M]Have patience (sabr) — Allah is with the patient. (Qur'an 2:153)
[1]Know that trials expiate sins — not a single thorn pierces but Allah expiates. (Bukhari 5640)
[1]Make du'a: "Allahumma ajirni fi musibati wakhluf li khayran minha." (Muslim 918)
[1]Seek help through prayer and patience. (Qur'an 2:45)
[2]Know that trials are a sign of Allah's love for the believer. (Tirmidhi 2396)
[1]Thank Allah in ease, be patient in hardship — both are good for you. (Muslim 2999)
[1]Look at those less afflicted — not those above you. (Bukhari 6490)
[2]Maintain hope — with hardship comes ease, twice. (Qur'an 94:5-6)
[2]Give sadaqah during hardship — it extinguishes divine anger.
[3]Keep trials private — do not complain to others, only to Allah. (Qur'an 12:86)
[2]Know that the prophets were the most severely tested. (Tirmidhi 2398)

🚫 What Not to Do

[H]Curse fate, slap cheeks, tear clothes, or wail. (Bukhari 1294)
[H]Question Allah's wisdom or decree.
[h]Say "if only I had done..." — "if only" opens the work of shaytan. (Muslim 2664)
[h]Despair of Allah's mercy — only disbelievers despair. (Qur'an 12:87)
[h]Complain excessively to people — this contradicts sabr.
[h]Wish for death due to hardship. (Bukhari 5671)
[H]Harm yourself or commit suicide — the greatest sin after shirk.
[h]Take haram means to relieve hardship (riba, stealing, haram work).
[h]Abandon obligations (prayer, fasting) because of hardship.

— Seek medical treatment, therapy, and counseling — Allah sent a cure for every disease.
— Take permissible means to change your situation while trusting in Allah.
