✅ What to Do

[M]Strive against your own soul (nafs) — the greater jihad. (Bukhari quoted in Fath al-Bari)
[1]Defend Muslim lands when attacked — it becomes fard 'ayn. (Qur'an 2:190-193)
[1]Strive against shaytan by resisting whisperings and temptations.
[2]Spend wealth in Allah's cause — like a grain growing 700 grains. (Qur'an 2:261)
[2]Learn military skills for defense: swimming, archery, riding. (Muslim 1910)
[1]Support the mujahideen with wealth, du'a, and moral support.
[3]Guard the frontiers (ribat) — guarding a day is better than the world. (Bukhari 2892)
[2]Seek martyrdom sincerely — the martyr is forgiven all sins. (Muslim 1884)
[2]Recite Ayat al-Kursi and the last verses of Surah Al-Baqarah before sleep for protection.
[1]Fight in the ranks — Allah loves those who fight in rows like solid structure. (Qur'an 61:4)

🚫 What Not to Do

[H]Fight without legitimate authority and just cause in an organized Islamic state.
[H]Kill women, children, elderly, monks, or non-combatants. (Bukhari 3015)
[H]Mutilate bodies or kill captives unlawfully. (Bukhari 3075)
[H]Flee from battle when facing the enemy — major sin. (Qur'an 8:15-16)
[H]Steal from the war booty (ghulul). (Bukhari 3074)
[h]Fight for nationalism, tribalism, or worldly gain — intention must be for Allah alone.
[H]Commit suicide attacks — suicide is a major sin.
[h]Destroy crops, animals, and property unnecessarily. (Abu Dawud 2615)
[h]Wish to meet the enemy — ask Allah for safety, but be steadfast if you meet them. (Bukhari 7236)

— Whether to participate in defensive jihad based on your capacity and circumstances.
— Participating financially is valid if unable to fight physically.
