✅ What to Do

[1]Seek treatment for mental health — the Prophet said every disease has a cure. (Bukhari 5678)
[M]Maintain prayer and dhikr — the heart finds rest in the remembrance of Allah. (Qur'an 13:28)
[1]Speak to a trusted person, therapist, or counselor — it is not a lack of faith.
[1]Make du'a for anxiety: "Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal hammi wal hazan..." (Bukhari 2893)
[2]Recite Surah Ad-Duha and Ash-Sharh when feeling low — Allah's mercy is encompassing.
[1]Know that stress and anxiety are tests that expiate sins. (Bukhari 5640)
[1]Take breaks, rest, and practice self-care — your body has a right over you. (Bukhari 6131)
[2]Maintain healthy sleep, exercise, and diet — physical health supports mental health.
[1]Maintain social ties and community — isolation worsens mental health.
[2]Seek refuge from anxiety in the morning/evening adhkar.
[1]Ruqyah (Qur'anic healing) for spiritual ailments — recite Al-Fatihah, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, An-Nas.
[3]Know that Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity. (Qur'an 2:286)
[2]Focus on what you can control, let go of what you cannot — this is from iman.

🚫 What Not to Do

[h]Dismiss mental health as "lack of faith" — it is a real illness like any physical disease.
[H]Use alcohol, drugs, or haram means to cope with mental distress.
[h]Isolate yourself completely — shaytan preys on the isolated.
[h]Neglect medication prescribed by a trustworthy doctor thinking "only du'a is needed."
[h]Compare your inside to others' outside — social media envy destroys peace.
[h]Dwell on the past excessively — what is gone is gone. (Qur'an 57:23)
[H]Harm yourself or attempt suicide.
[H]Abandon obligatory prayers due to mental distress — prayer is your lifeline.
[h]Despair — only disbelievers despair of Allah's mercy. (Qur'an 12:87)

— Choose therapy, medication, lifestyle changes, or a combination — all are permissible.
— Seek help from Muslim or non-Muslim therapists — results matter, not their faith.
— Whether to disclose your mental health condition is your personal decision.
